The Airbnb Turnover Checklist for Toronto Hosts

Hosting in Toronto means every review is a snapshot of one specific clean, on one specific day, seen through the eyes of someone who's comparing your listing's photos to what's actually in front of them. A turnover clean has to hit a higher, more consistent bar than a regular home clean, and it usually has to happen in a tighter window between checkout and the next check-in. Here's the checklist that keeps that bar consistent, visit after visit.

Why turnover cleaning is different

A regular home clean is forgiving: if a corner gets missed, you'll notice it yourself next week and it gets caught then. A turnover clean has one shot before a stranger walks in expecting the listing photos to match reality. That means no visible hair anywhere, no lingering odours, and every amenity photographed in the listing actually present and working. It also means speed matters: a same-day turnover between an 11am checkout and a 3pm check-in doesn't leave room for a leisurely pace.

Bedrooms & linens

  • Strip every bed completely, including decorative pillows and throws, and check under the bed for anything left behind
  • Fresh linens on every bed, hospital-cornered, with no stray hairs on the pillowcases
  • Check closets and drawers for guest items left behind: this happens more than you'd think
  • Dust nightstands, lamps and any surface a guest's phone or bag would have touched
  • Vacuum under the bed and behind any furniture that gets moved for photos but never for cleaning

Bathroom

This is the room guests scrutinize hardest, and the one where a miss is most visible.

  • Tub, shower and grout: hair is the single most common complaint in guest reviews, so check the drain and corners twice
  • Toilet, inside, outside, base and behind: every time, no exceptions
  • Fresh towels, folded to match your listing photos, with old towels removed entirely (not just relocated)
  • Mirror cleaned streak-free: bathroom mirrors show water spots under any lighting
  • Restock toilet paper, soap and any amenities your listing promises

Hair in the shower drain is the single most common thing that turns a good stay into a bad review. Check it every time, not just when it looks obviously dirty.

Kitchen

  • Empty the fridge of anything the last guest left, and wipe shelves if there's any spill or residue
  • Wash, dry and put away every dish: a dishwasher left running is not the same as a clean kitchen
  • Wipe counters, stovetop and the outside of appliances, checking handles for fingerprints
  • Empty and reline all trash and recycling bins, and take the bags out of the unit
  • Check that anything in the listing description, a coffee machine, specific dishware, is present and functioning

Restock & reset

The last pass is about matching the listing, not just cleaning it. Reset furniture to the layout in your photos, refill anything you supply, coffee, dish soap, paper towels, and do a final walkthrough with fresh eyes, ideally standing in the doorway the way a guest would when they first walk in.

Same-day turnarounds

A tight same-day window is where things get missed if the process isn't consistent. Having the same person clean your unit for every turnover, rather than whoever happens to be free that day, means she already knows your listing's exact standard, where everything is stored, and what your specific guests tend to leave behind. That consistency is worth more on turnover day than almost anywhere else in home cleaning, and it's exactly how we handle Airbnb and turnover cleaning for hosts across Toronto.

Common questions

Can you do same-day turnovers?

Tight windows between checkout and check-in are common for hosts. Ask us about your dates when you book, and see Airbnb & turnover cleaning for how turnover visits work.

Do you supply fresh linens and towels?

We work with what your listing supplies, laundering and resetting them to your standard each turnover.

What if a guest leaves damage or a mess beyond normal turnover?

Let us know ahead of the visit: we'll flag anything unusual so you can address it with the guest.
